Restorative Justice

Overview of RJ at RU

Restorative justice, as it is being used in the United States, has been adapted and developed from many indigenous practices. In Native American and First Nation justice philosophy and practices, there is a prioritization of healing and reintegration over punishments.

At Rutgers University – New Brunswick, we are working towards a culture shift to fully embody this philosophy. Our growing Restorative Justice Department is committed to offering proactive and responsive services to students and communities across our campus. Please continue exploring our services to learn more about our restorative offerings.
