Respond to Harm and Conflict

When disagreements or conflicts arise and cause harm, there is a restorative process that Rutgers offers to address things in a non-punitive way called a restorative justice (RJ) conference. It is a completely voluntary process that involves prework, education, meeting the needs of impacted parties, and holding responsible parties accountable. Support persons for each party are welcome in the process. The result of an RJ conference is a signed agreement crafted by both parties to meet the needs of the impacted party and repair the harm.
